ACLU Opposes ‘Choice’ when applied to School Choice for your Kids

The ACLU is trying to get an Arizona court to declare School Choice Arizona unconstitutional because it allows tuition scholarships for religious schools.

“The ACLU and its allies have failed four times before to get the tuition program declared unconstitutional. Gary McCaleb with the Alliance Defense Fund say the program, which helps parents get their kids out of failing schools and create competition in education, is funded by private donors who get a tax credit for supporting education.

“Because it effects taxation in a very indirect fashion, they think that’s some sort of direct funding of religion. And there is simply no case law out there that agrees with them.”
