Typical Comment from an Atheist

I just wanted to show all of my readers an example of comments that I receive from members of the atheist community quite often.  It is a shame how angry, nasty, mean-spirited and intolerant people have become in our society.  I used asterisks to block out the profanity.  I do not approve these types of comments so they are not displayed on my posts for obvious reasons but I do receive them quite often.

A new comment is waiting for your approval

  1. It would seem that ‘Bob’ is a royal jerk. I am an atheist, but would never stoop to that level nor do any other non-theists that I know. Thankfully, he is in a minority. I guess there are nut-jobs on both sides of the fence.

It’s unfortunate some choose to resort to profanity and personal attacks, however many atheists recieve the same treatment from religious zealots. A quick look through the hatemail recieved by The Richard Dawkins foundation: http://richarddawkins.net/theUgly, reveals equally nasty terms.

Does this make either group better? No. People have this natural tendancy to hate viewpoints they don’t understand or agree with. It’s too bad we can’t all just get along.

Thank you for your comments. I agree that it is never right to act hateful. It is a shame so many are so filled with hate.

    Mike,

Thank you for your comments. I agree. There are those with all types of worldviews that act inappropriately.
