“…and the mainstream media looks the other way.
The National Catholic Register is reporting the story that the local mainstream media has refused to cover. We reported the incident on this website last month, but did not know all the details at the time.
Eileen and Tom Smith adopted Honduran born Laura Hope Smith when she was 5. Now, at age 22, she is dead as the result of a botched abortion.
Although 600 people attended her funeral, her death went unreported in the local media.
Since the media has refused to cover the story, Eileen is speaking out.
She told the Catholic National Register , “I don’t want Laura’s death swept under the rug. If Laura had died falling off a bike or in a car accident, it would have been in the paper the next day. This is a political hot potato.”
The story here is that abortion is about death, not choice.
There is also another story and it’s about the extreme bias of the media its self. There is no story they won’t ignore in support of their philosophical positions.
Eileen Smith said she was sought out and interviewed by a Cape Cod Times reporter two days after her daughter’s death. Finally after public pressure, the Times ran a story this past Sunday, five weeks later, under the headline, “Parents Search For Clues in Daughter’s Unexplained Death.”
Mark Crutcher, president of Life Dynamics, an organization that has exposed abortion linked cover-ups such as child abuse and the sale of baby parts, says there has been at least 347 documented maternal deaths from legal abortion. He said, “These cases are only the tip of the iceberg,” because maternal deaths from abortion are very hard to document.
This case is a clear example.
Crutcher said, “Making abortion legal never made abortion safe.”
